[Case Study] GNSS RTK Observation, Iwate University Faculty of Agriculture, Symbiotic Environment Course

We will introduce a case that demonstrates the effective observation work achieved through the synergy of mobility and high speed, resulting in good responsiveness.

We would like to introduce a case study of GNSS receiver G3100 RTK observations from the Coexistence Environment Course of the Faculty of Agriculture at Iwate University. (The current model is the GX2 series.) During the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, tsunamis surged in from both the Hirota Bay side and the Pacific Ocean side. Due to ground subsidence, seawater that flooded the reclaimed land could not be drained, and the Hirota Town area became an isolated island for several days. Investigating the subsidence situation became urgent for the restoration of agricultural land and reclaimed land. As a result, the efficiency of the investigation has been improved through RTK positioning using GNSS surveying equipment, with the PENTAX G3100, compatible with GLONASS and GPS, actively utilized on-site for RTK positioning. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - Aerial photography from above cannot accurately assess the amount of subsidence. - There are still many areas with a large amount of debris remaining, and the wide range of the survey area means that efficiency does not improve with leveling and total station surveys. ■Results - The compact and lightweight design, along with being cable-free, allows for excellent mobility and quick successive RTK positioning in a short time. - Data transmission from the reference station to the mobile station can be done stress-free with a high-speed wireless modem, allowing for focused observation work. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Case Studies of Network RTK Utilization: "General Surveying"

Introducing examples of the use of "network RTK" in the general surveying field.

This document introduces examples of the use of a unique technology (JENOBA method) utilizing real-time data from electronic reference points in the field of general surveying with "network-type RTK." It includes numerous examples of applications, starting with "road ledger map revision work," as well as "centerline and longitudinal surveying of high-voltage power lines" and "topographic and reference point surveying along coastlines." 【Examples of Applications】 ■ Application examples related to road ledger map revision work (Pasco Corporation Kansai Division) ■ Development of a manual for reference point (star measurement point) surveying work using network-type RTK single point observation (Tondabayashi City, Osaka Prefecture; cooperation: Asahi Koyo Co., Ltd.) ■ Application examples of reference point (star measurement point) surveying using network-type RTK single point observation (Geotechnical Co., Ltd.) ■ Application examples of centerline and longitudinal surveying of high-voltage power lines using network-type RTK (Hidex Co., Ltd. and Wajima) ■ Application examples of network-type RTK in river surveying and leveling (reference point) (Kyushu Chuo Surveying Co., Ltd.) *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

[Example] Third-class benchmark surveying using simultaneous observation method with two network-type RTK systems.

Simultaneous observation of two units using network RTK! Observation completed in just one and a half days!

We would like to introduce a case study conducted by Shinsoku Giken Co., Ltd. on "3rd Class Benchmark Survey using Network RTK with Simultaneous Observation of Two Units." From the new points of 55, it was a site that required 4 days with 10 receivers and 4 personnel for static observation as usual. In this case, due to difficulties in arranging equipment and personnel, we conducted simultaneous observation with two units using network RTK with the cooperation of Sokia Co., Ltd. 【Site Overview】 ■ Number of Points - Reference Points: 7 - New Points: 55 ■ Date and Time - 2 days - 17th (8:54 AM - 6:11 PM) *Number of observation vectors: 53 - 18th (9:05 AM - 2:25 PM) *Number of observation vectors: 30 ■ Equipment: 2 sets of Network RTK ■ Personnel: 2 people *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Example] Installation work for fourth-class reference points for land surveying.

Achieved approximately one-third time reduction compared to conventional methods! Utilizing network-based RTK!

We would like to introduce a case where M.T.Y. Synthetic Co., Ltd. utilized a network-type RTK for "the installation work of fourth-class reference points for land surveying." The site involved the installation of fourth-class reference points for land surveying. It was a flat area on a high ground, and there were no issues with satellite conditions or mobile phone communication. A total of 6 points were installed, achieving good results with an accuracy of within 1 cm. The operation went smoothly without any hindrances, and the work was completed in one day. 【Benefits and Effects】 ■ Achieved approximately one-third time reduction compared to conventional methods ■ Cost reduction ■ Shortened delivery time ■ Due to the reduction in on-site work time, we are now able to accept more jobs than before *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
